Applied Programming
- Designed an extension to an existing tax preparation system in Perl to allow on-the-fly
extraction of compressed archived client data across a distributed network of servers.
- Implemented the Lua scripting language in the open source game engine Aleph One
to allow greater scenario creation control.
- Developed a 3D OpenGL networked game engine in Java in a team programming environment.

- Managed several workstations and servers running Redhat Server and Gentoo.
Configured and maintained services such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, IMAP, IRC, NFS, NIS, and SMB.
- Designed secure network device to function as a firewall and safe fileserver for
sensitive data. Implemented redundant security features, automatic software updating, and
web configuration interface.

- Ranked 10th of 62 teams in the 2004 Southern California Regionals of the ACM
International Collegiate Programming Contest. Coached 2005 team.
- Placed 2nd in PuzzleCrunch 2006, hosted by UIUC.
- Only individual to earn the Continental Mathematics League National C++ Contest Medal
twice for Top Score in the Nation.
- Received the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Mathematics and Science Award in 2003.
- Published an abstract on electromagnetic accelerators
in 2003 Journal of Student Abstracts.
